RIP: Ram Revilla

- This is kind of an eerie experience for us ... especially that a day from now is All Saint's day. Was it just coincidental ... or there was some kind of magnetic or shall we say divine plan that lured me into featuring Ram Revilla and include him in Man Central Hall of Famers.
-A day ago I posted a feature on Ram Revilla, I was debating myself that if cousin Jolo Revilla made it to our elite list of Pinoy hunks, so should Ram. And he should. I painfully researched on his filmography and after an hour, his first landing in the orbit of Man Central pages was published.
-I was listening to TFC's TV Patrol that time, and I almost fell on my chair when Alex Santos dropped the bomb as he read the headline that Ram Revilla was shot, stabbed and was killed in his house. PHEEEEW!
-I feel numb and my head start spinning like Im going to vertigo. After recovering my dizzy and giddy state, I consoled myself ... the Man Central piece I did for him, I guess is my way of singing hossana in his name ... a little swan song before he said goodbye.
-To Ram ... may you rest in PEACE!

RIP: Murillo Rezende

For the last two weeks Man Central was in a quandary after reading a news item written in Portuguese about Murilo Rezende and his alleged death. The initial reaction for Man Central and Murilo-believers was disbelief ... of course we don't want other blogs to beat us bringing the news... but we cautioned ourselves to keep the urge to write in its low decibels. We are talking about somebody's death here ... and Man Central being a responsible blog want to take it slow ... and sure.

Also ... Man Central was in its bargaining mood. We are still hoping, the news was a fluke and was just made up. We have been a Murilo supporter from the get-go. Lucas Malvacini was on top of Mr. Brazil totem pole ... he is untouchable ... but we really hoped Murillo could at least compete in Mr. International. I guess it was some cosmic design not to make him win. Imagine the sadness of his fans and his family if he won the right to compete in an international pageant and then weeks before the contest ... Mr. Death knocked on his door?

This will be Man Central's last feature of Murilo. This is a tribute to what he could attain ... and to what he could possibly gain in showbiz and modelling world. Although we could write more of him, but we want to give the guy a REST.

Let me end this feature by borrowing an epitaph from a Sam Milby-KC Concepcion movie which run something like this: ... "It is quite quick we fell in love with Murilo in one day ... now it take us forever to say goodbye ..."

Goodbye Murillo ... and may you REST IN PEACE!

RIP: Angelico Vieira

Angelico Vieira was the face of Calvin Klein in Portugal and Portuguese speaking countries in Africa (Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Sao Tome. He is a model, an actor and a singer and his youth series Strawberries With Sugar was the most memorable. The cause of death accoring to the news is vehicular accident.

AJ Perez: The Gift of Eyesight!

Lawrence already had his corneal transplant and is recuperating very well. The eight year old boy is now having his preliminanry work-ups.

The president of Sta Lucia Eye Bank, Dr Menguita Padilla, expressed and lauded AJ's parents decision to donate their son's cornea. The same words of appreciation were heard from the recipients: " AJ may not be with us physically but his presence will be felt as he continue to touch the lives of these two special people.

For the record Miko Soto, Jay Ilagan and Angelo, (the son of Cesar Montano), Edward James (Toni Rose Gaida's son ) are among the famous movie personalities who died but donated their corneas to the Eye Bank. (all photos are copyright to its rightful owners.)

Rico Yan: We Remember The Boy ...

Deja vu ... ! Thats what it's all about. That was also Holy Week when Rico Yan hit the headlines when at the height of his career ... he bade untimely goodbye to his fans and to the grieving movie industry when he was found dead while vacationing in a popular resort.

Last Palm Sunday ... another matinee idol (AJ Perez) made a final detour when his van run turtled ... and the promising career cut short... again giving the industry another painful blow.
What a waste ... and of course we love to discuss a lot of parallelism between the two ... for one both are matinee idols, both ABS CBN stars, both died at Lenten Season, both graduated at De La Salle University, both are under the sign of Pisces, and both died while they are sleeping. And then there's AJ's photo with Rico Yan in the background, Man Central is not superstitious ... but the image was giving us a creepy Lenten feeling!

Three days ago I made a tribute to AJ Perez ... Man Central feels we also want to immortalize Rico Yan's contribution to the movie industry .... so here we are:

AJ Perez: So Young And So Talented!

Aaaah ... death can really come like a thief in the night! I have seen AJ in a hallways of ABS CBN and my first impression of him was that this man is well mannered and well bred. I have seen him in TV, and in every gameshows he attended (Game Ka Na Ba and the like . where intellegence is a must) he always come out the winner. And in his latest teleseryes and movies ... we see a budding actor in him. That's why when we heard AJ"s accident ... we were quite saddened ... and all we say was "Sayang ..." For how can a young man just leave like that ... when it looked like there's a lot in store for him. In AJ's name ... we pay this little homage and respect ... and Man Central hope this little tribute will sing hossana in his name and to the rest of his fans. RIP: Charles Devoe

The fashion industry is suddened by the untimely demise of Dolce and Gabbana model Charles Devoe. He died at New York Presbyterian Hospital. One of the famous photoshoot of Charles was done by Mario Testino from V59 The Swimsuit Issue. Charles Devoe's cause of death was reportedly due to a surfing accident. This is Man Central's tribute to his name. Charles ... you will surely be missed.

RIP: Matthew Schaefer

A Man Central reader has informed us that Supermodel Matthew Schaefer already died. Indeed his death was a big jolt to us (fans and believers) who only knew it by now. He was too young to die (he died of a sinus infection but his battle with cancer and his chemo therapy that weakened his immune system took his life in a rapid turn)
What is it that we remember when we thought of Mathew? As a supermodel, Matthew is well -loved. It made us realized he indeed lived his life wonderfully. He has touched a lot of our lives too, and for sure he has done a lot of good things here on earth, and he will do more in heaven.
To all his hordes of fans, this is not the moment for us to shed tears, but we should be thankful

RIP:Ambrose Olsen

Man Central is taking this opportunity to pay tribute to a very popular model Ambrose Olsen who appeared in high profile campaigns for Armani Exchange and Hugo Boss. He died unexpectedly last April 22, 2010 in New York City. The cause of death is still unknown. May you rest in peace Ambrose ... This is a big loss for the fashion industry.

RIP: Brett Mycles

Brett Mycles was a health and a fitness model and a body builder and usually a regular and can be seen in the issues of International Model magazine. Brett started as a teen and has developed what was the most beautiful and masculine of all physique. Because of this awesome physique, this perfect Adonis branched out and moonlighted as an adult male actor. Brett was found dead in his sleep in his apartment in Las Vegas and the cause of death was congestive heart failure.

From all your fans, you will be sorely missed Brett. RIP!
