He lost To Jason Erceg of New Zealand by a slim margin, making him the first runnerup. His first bid to win a crown did not dampen Sandro's spirit. In 1998, he went to Troia Portugal to try his luck again in Mr. World 1998. And indeed he was victorious ... the crown and the sash was in his hands and Venezuela was rejoicing!
