One new thing about the contest was the fact that the voting public were given the chance to vote for their favorites who send messages of support via text votes. The result was encouraging and the new twist provides added excitement to the candidates as well as their supporters.
2003 also was the time when almost all the top models in Venezuela came in strong force to join the contest. Some were working as models, some were involved in TV or even movies. Claudio dela Torre who represented Anzoategui, placed 2nd RU, Jacinto Oropeza who represented Delta Amacuro was 1st RU , and Andres Mistage of Carabobo was declared the winner and saw himself competing in the Mr. World extravaganza a year later.
Our featured model today, Claudio dela Torre ... two years later wowed pageant observers at Manhunt International 2005 held in Busan Korea. Claudio was awesome in his national costume and placed second in that department. He was declared one of the finalists ... but the top prized went to to Mr. Turkey Tolgahan Sayisman. Latvia was second, Curacao third, China 4th and Puerto Rico 5th.
