November 28, 2009 is the finals of Mr. Cebu 2009. The big night will be held at Waterfront Hotel and Casino and from the looks of it, it is going to be an interesting night with everybody scratching their heads on who will be the man holding the trophy and the sash at the end of the night.

I have been involved with Ginoong Filipinas Cebu at the time when the likes of Jeram Lumbab,Orlan Quijada, Lyndon Fernandez, Mark Katada, John Lawrence Aquino, Israel Winston Geraldo, and Vincent Escobido lorded the ramp and the modelling jobs in Cebu under head honcho Harley Ruedas and every time the finals came there's that almost chilly feeling of melancholy, as the end draws near and the time to separate is almost inevitable.

The candidates will always remember the fun and the follies, the gruelling schedule, the practice the rehearsals and the blocking, the funshoots and pictorials, the television guestings and the press presentation, the interviews, the closeness that is almost like family. This must be also what the candidates of Mr. Cebu is feeling right now. The morning after ? When reality sinks in ... the emptiness is there.

Before the curtain close let me take this opportunity and congratulate the producer and its staff for a job well done. The candidates too ... and people may call it a cliche ... but your participation, win or loss is what matters most. Joining Mr. Cebu is an experience in your lifetime, and the story can be retold over and over again.

Marvin Llanos Maning deserves a pat on the shoulder with this photo set where the 14 candidates of Mr. Cebu became the recipient of his meticulous attention for details and judging from the finished product one can chuckle in envy and jealousy why he can't get that vigilant and watchful eye from their photographers.

As you look at each frame Marvin managed to infuse new but brilliant ideas and techniques, the images are so engaging and picture-perfect. In fact I consider them classy, and his stroke of genius is evident besides squeezing the creative juices from the candidates, their personality came out in the open as the images seemed to leap on the page.

One wonders though who deserves most of the laud and the kudos from all this visual feast. Was he the person in charge of the styling? Was it the make up? Was it the visual virtuosity of Marvin? Or was it the concerted effort of the three to come up with nothing less than brilliance.

Talking about Mr. Cebu 2009, may I will remind you that the finals will be on November 28, 2009 . Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront City Hotel and Casino is where the action will be.

Hari Ng Negros has been on our pageant consciousness for the past 3 years now and the annual

contest where men from all towns and cities in Negros Occidental send worthy ambassadors to the contest to represent their aspirations and dreams.

Now BNB Productions from its neighbor Sugbu concoct a much even grandiose idea of holding the same contest every year , more bigger in scope and preparation and more exciting and select men from the Queen City of The South- Cebu and even the men from its periphery- Bohol, Leyte, Negros Oriental and even Samar.

From a very impressive inaugural show last year, to the attention getting internet site, and the above standard and a flawless bevy of candidates, the pageant shows a lot of promise not even Manilan based pageants can produced a show like that and have an internet site that blows the mind.

Now the photoshoots are managed by the Men's Room (photography by men for men) under fellow Multiply friend Marvin Llanos Maning, and you could just imagine if the whole battery of brilliant photographers like Ian Felix Alquiros, Dan Santos, JR Sala go to Cebu and join forces with Marvin, the photoshoot magic possibilities would be endless.

Incidentally Mr. Cebu 2009 will be staged on November 28, 2009 and the venue is Pacific Grand Ballroom Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. See you there!
