All roads leads to A Venue Mall in Makati for this year's Mister International Philippines 2009. And set your alarm because it will start at 8 PM, and if you haven't heard of the latest forecast, the most conservative way to see the pageant en toto without getting wet and drenched is to go to the mall 3 hours earlier. Hahaha ... just like going to the airport for an international flight.
I have been dying to write something about the pageant and the candidates (today is Oct 13 and tomorrow is the pageant night) and with my photo-finish attitude I went straight to Ian Felix Alquiros site and I was not disapponted with what I saw. What a batch! Some guys are gorgeous and hot but there were two or three who distracted my almost perfect estimate of the group. They were like oranges placed in the bowl of apples.
Some of these men have six packs, a tan, groomed eyebrows, some lick their lips, and some sports the intense "come to me baby-look" almost whispering "meow"! One candidate has a chiselled face and even more chiselled body he almost resemble one of my favorite soap opera actor. Yum!
I remember the first pageant I saw way back 2000. I honestly didn't expect I will have fun but to my surprise I found myself standing on a chair, shrieking so loud for our candidates that I completely lost my voice the next day. And I was surprised at how intimate the setting was as candidates sports that "catch me if you can" leer there's too much of seduction in the air.
And to my horror there are lots of comedy of errors too, as one candidate tripped and fall, his make-up cracked and could not even hide his embarrasment. Then there was that macho sporting a tiger look in a swimwear round, and the more he tried, the more feminine his whole exercise becomes. Muffled guffaws are heard from the audience, but what do you expect?
Going back to Mr. International, I was told that the winner will be 50,000 richer by the end of the night and the winner will represent the Philippines at the Mr. International pageant in Taiwan somewhere around November. Again I look at the photos, and if the pictures dont lie,
I will give you my fearless forecast.
In my book the top five includes: Franco Ramos, Anton Malko, Farzam Nasirian, Mike Manansala, and James Versoza. The dark horses are: Abdul Wallace, Adrian Petry and Michael Acuna. Good luck guys.
