And the tradition continues. GMA with its desire to continue infusing new blood, new faces and new stars into our midst ... continue to discover talents and potential superstars and heartthrobs of the future. With Pinoy TV bringing GMA into the televiewer's consciousness all over world, I was taken aback when we saw Starstruck wannabees from USA, Bahrain, Singapore, Japan, and Guam all queuing up with hopes and dreams of striking the gold.

Of course Philippine Starstruckers comprises 95 percent of the talent bulk but last Sunday's Judgement Day is one for the books with beauties and hunks from abroad squeeze themselves and give themselves their last gasp of breath to reach the finish line- the Top 14!.

Steven Silva is from Oceanside California and his family came from Davao. "Singing is something he loved doing and is something he wishes to continue improving". Ian Batherson is another Phil-Am to invade showbiz shores. He is from Guam and loves to sing and play guitar either acoustic or electric. Rye Burgos is from USA although his family comes from Mandaluyong. He wants to show his acting talent and wants to try on comedy too. Other female starstruckers are Zeryl Lim from Bahrain, Sarah Labathi from Switzerland Nina Kodaka from Japan

For the local flavor, Piero Vergara is in the forefront. He was born in Davao, and wants his fans swoon like Michael Buble thru his singing. Enzo Pineda is from Makati. He can act and he can dance too, although he wants to show his taekwando skills in some action flicks. Rocco Nacino was born in Baguio but was raised in Laguna. What he can offer? Maybe some dance routine or a jujitso routine. Sef Cadayona is the Man from Manila. He can be a good asset for SOP with his dancing skills on the limelight. Talk about popping, locking, tutting, wave, floor walks, little basket you name and Sef can do it.

Let us give this kids a chance to prove their worth. Who knows we are looking at a new Mark Herras or Rainier Castillo or may some shades of Mike Tan, Prince Stefan, Mart Escudero or Aljur Abrenica.
